Woe Is Me

Woe is me!

Last night, after around 1900 hours, I started feeling a bit tom n dick. I got into bed nice and early, thinking that a goods sleep would sort me out. Boy oh boy was I wrong! By 2200 I was vomiting and experiencing explosive diarrhoea. To say my bathroom looked like the set of a horror movie is an understatement.

I called in sick to work, and spent today alternating between shivering in bed and running to the toilet. I’m off work tomorrow as well, given that my employer is a food manufacturer and retailer and has a rule that vomiting and diarrhoea means a minimum 48 hours absence, even though I don’t work on the shop floor. Today I’ve managed 2 slices of dry toast and that’s my lot.

I kyboshed training tonight, as I felt exceedingly tender. You know that thing where you feel warm when still but when you move you shiver? That’s me right now, and I also have a stonking headache. I feel bad about missing training but it was the right thing to do. I had called my coach to let him know and his reaction was similar.

All in all I feel awful. If anyone out there has any sympathy going, I’d be most grateful!

  1. Send me your germs via the interwebz...I've been trying to catch a stomach flu to scare off some weight all winter with no luck! ;) Hope it passes quickly & you're all better tomorrow. Rehydrate slowly when you can.

  2. I feel a bit better today though I am still tender.

Going to head to training even if I just manage a relatively light session. I know I'll not feel normal unless I do so!

Managed some soup for lunch and some bread. Been drinking lots of water.
